An intimate self portrait

Time I think for another self portrait. This time a close look into my intimmers, my inner workings.
This is my karyotype, my chromosomes laid out for all to see. It was prepared years ago by a geneticist colleague who was researching something important but which has now totally escaped me. I remember being relieved at the time to find that I had the usual 23 pairs of chromosomes! The mismatched pair, the green ones at lower right are my X and Y chromosomes. These are responsible for me being a grumpy old male, rather than a sweet old lady!
