Aperitif

A week today I will be surrounded by orchid-rich meadows in the Alps so it was a nice starter to spend a couple of hours at Ynyslas nature reserve on the Welsh coast.  The dune slacks support a rich orchid flora which is just beginning to show itself.  Lots of Early Marsh Orchids (extra pic) and Southern Marsh Orchids .... well I think the main Blip is!

The day started with heavy rain and as ate Sunday lunch in Kings Cafe at Wharf Station the promised afternoon improvement in the weather seemed unlikely.  The pictures tell the story of a day off two halves :-)
