Coming Full Circle

It's a shame it's a leap year as I wasn't able to finish on that special 365...so here's that awkward 366th entry. Silly solar system.

I took a photo of a balloon of the same design last boxing day for my first blip. My church give them out to the children - I still count right? - during the Christmas Day Family Service. A lot of my entries in the last month or so have been of a festive theme...

But it's so so important to remember the reason for the season as is written on this balloon. It's not about the presents, it's not about the music or the lights, or the food, or what's on TV. It's about celebrating God coming to earth, humbly, as a baby to save us from our sin that we are enslaved by.

So while you're enjoying your turkey and trimmings this Christmas Day or mourning the death of Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey - like I was. Going to miss those blue eyes... - have a good think about who you think Jesus is and why we celebrate his birth. All that fuss for a baby? He must have come for something greater than that.
