Yellow in the rain

As you can probably see from my blip ...... it rained! We kept hoping it would clear up ..... but it didn't look as if it was going to!

So we donned macs & headed out for a walk anyway ..... thankfully it was only light rain! We just had a short trip up the road to Pioneer & Beech Wood ..... that way if it started to pour we wouldn't have far to get home!

There wasn't very much about ..... most of the birds probably had more sense than us & were keeping dry! We did see a family of ducklings in the field .... they were peeping in & out of the grass!

A kestrel was hovering looking for dinner .... but the light was too poor to get a decent image.
We did see this Yellowhammer ...... first time we've seen one there & it did pose briefly for me though wouldn't look towards me ...... so you get the back of his head ...... hope you like it :-)

It was good to get out for a while ..... even if it was a tad damp!
