Day 154/19. A Sloe Shieldbug.
These little critters will eat almost anything and are armoured from attack. This one sat very colour co-ordinated on the Chives flowers in our herb garden. They are about 1cm head to tail and yes, can fly and have wings furled under their shield.
Taken differently to recent macro shots, this is a composite of 8 images at varying focus through the bug. Combined afterwards it gives a much wider focus depth and brings more of the bug into focus. A process, but it worls quite well......
