Not Just Boxing Day

For many years, Christmas evening was not for rest, but for creating cakes for R (our second daughter) on her Boxing Day birthday the next day.

J would bake, and I would carve, sculpt and cajole the finished product into trains, hedgehogs, beetles, teddy bears and so on. Now the cakes are more "traditional"...

I had to be very, very quick to capture this image. J's chocolate cakes are famous and seconds after this shot, the candles had been extinguished and only crumbs were left...
