The flowers on Guernsey are looking so beautiful - whether they are in home gardens, parks, planter boxes throughout the town or growing with wild abandon elsewhere there is colour everywhere - but I have chosen this flower for it subtle beauty of shape and detail.
Extra photos
- The Little Chapel, made from shells and broken pieces of china. It is incredibly small and incredibly beautiful inside, even with a tiny spiral staircase to a lower level.
- Sausmarez Manor. The first floor is available for viewing and the extensive garden offers various activities and a varied selection of sculptures.
- The German Occupation Museum was extremely interesting. Included is a photo of a wicker basket, quite elegant at first glance, but designed to contain three anti aircraft shells.
- Waterfront views, Guernsey cows and a donkey statue. Evidently the donkey is one of the national animals of Guernsey, traditionally used as beasts of burden for transport on the steep streets of St Peter Port.
Thank you for the visits, comments, stars and hearts for the photos from the island of Sark. It was wonderful stepping back in time.
