It's all about the journey

Today we travelled back home from our stay in Cawdor.
I have often been asked how far away it is. About 150miles I answer, then the conversation inevitably leads to how long does it take.
"Well" I answer "on a bad day around 1hr 45mins, but on a good day it can take a lot longer!"
Today was such a day and took us an enjoyable 6hrs 30mins. (The record was a little over 7hrs)

We are the kind of people who like to stop and smell (and drink) the coffee. Todays' trip home was shamelessly disrupted by a walk through a sunlight dappled freezing woodland, a brief stop at Clava Cairns, another at a big viaduct and a final stop at Loch Morlich (pictured)

Of course we warmed up in the Rothimurchus café with our usual flat whites and carrot cake which are particularly nice in there.

Like I said...it's all about the journey ?
