Remembering

In this week of celebrating the events of 75 years ago, I found this display of poppies at the edge of the rapeseed field not far from us. The poppies seem to grow everywhere at this time of year. Mostly, they are limited to the border of fields, almost like a marker of the field boundaries. Sometimes, however, they are mixed entirely with the crop. I often wonder why French bread is so tasty. I think it may have something to do with the opium content.
