Bee Orchid

Another nice break in the middle of the day meant I was able to get out today - luck was with me as it wasn't too bad weather-wise. Pickering's Pasture is only 15 minutes away so I went to see what I could find. Once again the butterflies were in short supply - a bit damp and windy I think. But I was surprised and really happy to spot this bee orchid which I hadn't noticed the last couple of times. I've never seen one before!  It was tucked away towards the back of the verge and I didn't want to trample over anything to get closer, so it's not a great shot, but it'll do. 

Will try and catch up again in a while.
