Disappointing D-Day Dakotas

Linton was supposed to be on the path of the flypast for the D-Day Dakotas on route to France.

This afternoon I joined a group who had gathered on a high point next to the A1307 with a great view of the planned route (great blip opportunity?)  But the take off was delayed and many of the people waited for hours.  (Being so local I went for a dentist appointment in between times) and in the end the planes went in another direction!  

How very disappointing!  So here is the best I've got, a view of the water tower, with echoes of 9/11 which was also a devastating, life changing event.
