Change-over Day
We dropped in to Merton Abbey Mills this morning. Liberty silk fabrics used to be designed and printed here. There are still a few relics of the old days to be seen - a waterwheel on the River Wandle, covered in green weed, and this old hand-cart, for example.
I was hoping to get a replacement for a broken butter dish from the potter here, but he didn't have any left.
We're now at number two son's in Kingston and have had a full briefing on all we have to do for the next few days - starting with the school run tomorrow morning.
I didn't manage to take any pictures other than this today, but luckily it just about fits the wide-angle challenge of 'historic'.
Thanks to Steveng for hosting this week. And apologies for lack of comments and replies, I'm hoping to catch up soon.
