Lobster pots

Little lobster boats can often be seen collecting lobster pots from the sea near North Berwick where a new lobster hatchery has recently been established at the harbour. Eggs are taken from lobsters which are then released back into the Forth and the eggs hatch eventually becoming miniature lobsters which are then put into the sea after about three months when they become less vulnerable to predators. The aim of the hatchery is to enable long term sustainable lobster fishing in the area.
