Vacation day 9 - Florence and Rome

We did some more sightseeing in Florence this morning.  We spent some time walking around the grounds of the Pitti Palace which offered some stunning vistas of the city.  After lunch we gathered our suitcases and took the train back to Rome.  It was kind of nice to be back in familiar territory.  Even though we'd been to St. Peter's earlier in the week, we were all anxious to see it at night.  It did not disappoint. It was a beautiful night and this shot is another of my favorites from the trip.  Hard to believe we have one day left before we head home.
