Angel of the North, Gateshead

We were reluctant to leave Harrogate but got away by 1000 for our drive north to Newcastle upon Tyne.  Stopped off at the Angel of the North en-route which is very impressive.  I waited for everyone to disappear to get a photo of it on its own but preferred this as the people give it scale.

Arrived in Newcastle around lunchtime and went exploring along the quayside.  Had lunch at the Baltic Art Gallery in the restaurant on the top floor with a great view of the city and river.  Lovely lunch too.

Great place and weather kind so far.
