...On the second day of Christmas.....

Much the same as the first day really......the ancients said they would be up early....so I got up early.....and they didn't put in an appearance until 10.00. They seemed a bit put out that I wasn't cooking a breakfast....but old people don't eat much....right? Well they managed to get through orange juice, cereal and four slices of toast and honey each.

The brother in law turned up and he and the Boss took them down to town for a bit of retail therapy....the Daughter and I met them later for a drink in the local.

Back home...a spot of lunch around 2.00....old people don't eat much....right? A large bowl of soup made from the surplus veggies from yesterdays lunch plus some celery....cold cuts of turkey, a gammon joint and a large pork pie accompanied by coleslaw, potato salad, sautee potatoes, bread and pate....followed by a dessert of my own devising involving lots of cream, crushed biscuits and pineapple...although someone opted for the Yule log and had two helpings.

Charlotte, the S & H and YH arrived back from their Christmas Day at YH's mums and Charlie got the rest of her presents from us....the b-in-l left for work...Charlie's mob went home...and the ancients fell asleep.

They woke at 7.00, the Boss asked if anyone was hungry...never thinking anyone would be...after all old people don't eat much....right?........and they instantly were galvanised into action. More cold cuts...pickles...red cabbage.....pork pie and oven chips......the Boss suggested a cup of tea to finish....but out of politeness asked if anyone would like anything else.....requests for more of this afternoon's pineapple dessert came instantly!

Around 9.30 they fell asleep again.....I decided I was watching Match of the Day....in a flash the f-in-l awoke and asked for the film "Rebecca"....but the Boss backed me up over the football. So I watched MOTD....well I tried..... the f-in-l muttered all the way through the United game about what a good film we were missing.....and I choked on a Haribo!....so I missed most of the commentary and three of the seven goals....and the step m-in-l talked all the way through the match showing the noisy neighbours losing to Sunderland....so I gave up. Good job we have Sky plus!

We're at a wedding tomorrow, after we've dropped them at the station, so that's my Friday taken care of .....the Boss is at work and I have about 20 programmes I want to see!

Off to bed now, we really do have to be up at 8.00 at the latest!

Das vidanya moy padruga.
