Saddle Up
Saddle up and ride your pony
Sit around and you'll be lonely
Saddle up and make the dust fly
Sit around and you will just cry.
The first step is the longest
When the wind is blowin' strongest
Check out from Heartbreak Hotel
Saddle up your horse and ride Like hell!
MrsMY, MrDM, Luna & Angie out for a ride on a much cooler day at half the temperature of yesterday. I had no idea they were all riding out but simply summoned to collect Luna.
Had never seen Dominic out on the new family acquisition, "Appi" a "Southern-German Cold Blood" draught horse, properly a "Noriker", a breed indigenous to the central Alpine region of Europe. A bit difficult getting a Shire Horse to clamber up & down steep meadows.
Angie on the white Shagya- Arabian, originating from Hungary at about the same time as the Anglo-Arabian was bred in England, both breeds more compact & robust than the pure Arabian Yvonne is riding.
Think it's time I got back in the saddle & did some excursions with Dominic. Nice to be able to enjoy a ride again (without the nagging ladies). Unlike the girl's temperamental Arabians, his draught horse is from a very cool breed & so our "couldn't give a damn" Quarter Horse Rosie would be ideal for me to accompany him! We could even think about getting our carriage dusted off.
After the 30°C of the last few days which made riding as good as impossible, today is a much more pleasant for riding 17°C with a bit of wind.
