Sir Boyd?

My Christian name is not common. I’ve only ever met 3 people with it: 2 of whom worked in the Scottish Government.

I’ve always known of Boyd Tunnock - of teacakes fame - but never met him.

So when the Birthday Honours list was published today and I saw “Sir Boyd” it was a pleasant surprise. Even more so as I appear in the same list with an OBE.

The family kindly gave me the attached (NB Vintage) champagne just after midnight.

It will have to wait as I’m on my way to Aberdeen tomorrow to join our volunteer members there for a recognition / social event.

Needless to say very honoured to receive the award. And I thank all those who worked alongside me over the years to help progress the wellbeing of children and young people.
