SILLY SATURDAY
I went out to do some early morning shopping at 7 am today. It was tipping down with rain again, but this policeman was happy because he was on GTR (Guarding Toilet Rolls) duty inside Morrisons. No wonder he’s smiling - he’s dry and I got my Blip sorted early in the day - so I’m smiling too, although I must admit I did get some strange looks from other early morning shoppers, probably thinking “Look at that silly woman, taking photographs of toilet rolls and a policeman!”
By the way, the policeman isn’t real, in case you were wondering - he’s stuck on the door as you go in to warn people about shoplifting and crime in Morrisons - so not as silly as it looks!
Home and all put away by 8.30 am - it only took so long because several of us had hen we watched the highlights of the Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the D Day landings - very poignant.
The National Anthem was played twice so we stood to attention twice!’ Mr HCB’s grandfather was an engine driver during the First World War, which was a “reserved occupation”, and had retired in 1930, so before the Second World War had started but he always stood to attention for the National Anthem and we do it, not only to honour our Queen but also to remember him.
Thankfully the rain has now stopped but it’s very windy, so it’s a reading and “messing about” day today apart from the Surprise Party we are going to this afternoon, but shhhhhh, no-one is supposed to know!

it's always best to take your shoes off first.”

P.S. Thank you for all your kind comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s Blip - all very much appreciated.
