Poppies for D-day

I went to see Saving Private Ryan tonight at a special anniversary showing. Everyone should see the first 20mins. I don't think being told what those young men faced really means anything until you see it. I know it's a film but it really does bring home how awful that day was, how many young men lost their lives, many before even leaving the boats. We owe them all so much gratitude and must not forget what they did. Lesson must be learnt and remembered, particularly at the moment when Nationalism is on the rise across Europe.
