Competition
No by your leave, no ifs, no buts:
field mouse is on the nuts
filling up his face.
Flitting round
small birds abound
waiting for a space.
In windy weather
fur and feather
vie in the feeding race.

It's usually a vole who competes for a share of the nuts, so it was a nice surprise to see this field mouse.
Despite a strong wind, the weather's turned out a lot sunnier than forecast, so Mrs B and I enjoyed a short walk on the beach. This evening we're going to see the local am dram group, Dartmouth Players, perform Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit. Doesn't matter how many times one's seen this - it's always good to see again. And it's been a while!
