These donkeys provide a gentle taxi service around the lovely white town of Mijas in the province of Malaga, Andalusia.
My friend and I are taking a tour of Classical Spain this week and this is the first day.

After the cold and damp of the UK when we left this morning it has been a delight to spend the afternoon here eating, drinking and enjoying the view in warmth and sunshine to the occasional trumpeting of these lovely creatures. We have read lots of information assuring us that they are well treated and there was some shaded stabling nearby where they were rested. I do hope so as we felt a little sorry for them.

Back at our hotel now. It is about half way between Mijas and the coast. You can spot it in the extra in about the middle of the picture. I believe the resort at the coast is Fuegirola but have never been.

We move on to Seville tomorrow.
