Sandy Place Middle School

Was out today helping to run a Tombola stall at our annual carnival day. Weather was pretty rough and the event was not well attended. It's held in the grounds of the middle school. This is the original House. Further modern buildings of course added over the years. This building dates to the early 18th century, but has only been a school for the last 68 years. However that is coming to an end. The county council have decided to shut the school as it is surplus to educational needs. All schools are seeing changes these days as they migrate to wider age ranges, become part of academies etc. So it closes in July and we don't know what will happen next year for carnival. There is another annual show held in the grounds late summer. Uncertain times. Such a shame.
