"Post-Christmas Sales" Time in Sydney
Shops in Australia don't open on Christmas Day, but Boxing Day brings the sales. People get up at ungodly hours to be first through the doors. However, Boxing Day is a public holiday, so offices are closed.
Today was back to work, and this evening I walked to the bus stop through the main shopping precinct of central Sydney. This is the Pitt Street Mall, at about 6:30pm. Actually, I expected it to be busier, but we are now feeling the effects of the economic downturn together with online shopping, here in Sydney.
It is also school holidays, so there are lots of kids, and lots of visitors to the city.
Weather is still cool, but sunny today.
