Banded Demoiselle
I really wasn't expecting insects today on my walk, but got rather excited when I spotted this female banded demoiselle. It's a damselfly but looks large enough to be a dragonfly.
She was just resting in amongst the reeds.
This afternoon we were off to the second day of the Festival in a Factory at Emma Bridgewater's factory in Hanley, one of the five towns in Stoke-on-Trent.
This time we heard Nino Strachey talk about the rooms of some of the Bloomsbury set. And after that Jenny Uglow gave us a summary of her biography about Edward Lear.
