Holiday day 16: Scarista to Lochmaddy
After fixing yet another puncture on my bike (number 6), we bid farewell to our hosts in Scarista today, then set off for the ferry to Berneray (blipped) and our ultimate destination of North Uist. Other than the bad start, it's been a lovely, gentle day of sailing and cycling.
We checked into our hotel in Lochmaddy, then visited the local museum and enjoyed an exhibition about the unique geology of this part of the world. The UHI fine art degree show is also currently exhibiting in the museum. It is very like all other undergraduate degrees shows, albeit on a much smaller scale. We liked the work of only one student, but all the pieces that we would have liked to have purchased were already sold.
Our entertainment this evening was another game of Scrabble (I am currently losing the series 4-8), plus a phone call with our niece Ailish.
My nephew Paddy sent the photo that I have used as my extra. This shows that Mummy hazelh is well entertained in West Sussex with my middle sister, her husband, my niece Ailish and her boyfriend Danny, my nephew Paddy, Paddy's girlfriend Caitlin, and my brother-in-law Richard.
Exercise today: around 18 miles of cycling.
