Guns and White Supremacy

Today Sue finishes her workshop, and we have checked out of the beautiful room she rented for us. I am on my own, though entrusted with our computers and earthly belongings, so not free to leave the car at a trail head and go walking. Therefore I have remained in town, continuing what the Swedes might call my "study visit" to a part of Oregon that has deep historical roots in white supremacy.

There is a market going on in a lovely park nearby, and in the market is a large stall selling paraphernalia of Oregun Shooters, who teach their children to cherish their right to bear AR-15s

I'll just leave that here and go sit under a tree at the opposite end of that park till it's time for us to drive back to Portland. If you missed my previous blip and are interested in thoughts on rodeo culture, have a look. The comments are wonderful.

In two weeks we will be back in Sisters so Sue can have installment #2 of her painting workshop. By then the rodeo will be gone, and perhaps the Oregunian booth with it. It will be interesting to see what this little town is all about when it isn't hosting a rodeo.
