Where Once there were Poppies

Off to the gym at 10 am and realised that my balance when walking was much better afterwards, so I must keep up the visits. Waiting in line for petrol at Sainsburys I realised that two Asian looking men were having an altercation in the road out to the exit. Horns started honking until one of the men told the driver of the car next to him to move out of the way.

Worked on an image, hopefully for an exhibition, this afternoon.

Then it was time to take Basil out for a walk. There had been reports of poppies in the fields neighbouring Tickow (Watery) Lane just over a week ago, so we drove up to Conway Drive and parked near an entrance on to the path marking the 'destroyed by Beecham' railway line. Basil had a good run and met a few canine friends.

I reached the point where I had taken a photo of the glorious poppy fields two years ago, occupied now by a building site. Today's photo is a multi exposure of the rape seed fields over the construction. Given that there are thousands of homes empty in the UK, who is going to move into these new houses? There are no additional services for the new residents. Further along on Tickow Lane, an entirely new road has been built to access the A512. Couldn't be plainer that this estate is intended to be a dormitory. Will the residents even identify with Shepshed?
