Lion Kings

We went to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston today in celebration of Na'iema's birthday last week.  The weather was perfect but I think we were all a little disappointed at the conditions that most of the animals were kept in - certainly not horrible but somehow zoos always make me feel sad for the animals in captivity.  It seems that some are rescued from private organizations that sell them for hunting or fur trade and that makes it a little less sad, but still....Nothing like freedom. The lions were kept in a nicer open area, but it seemed small for them.
