Well in my opinion they do make exceedingly good machines! (Apologies to Mr Kipling)
This one my late mother bought in the early 1990’s and it did sterling services on her little estate. When she died I took it over and it’s still going strong. Apart from greasing the gear head I don’t think it has ever needed any new parts - apart from new cord etc. I still have the original cutting blade which has been sharpened many times.
I wouldn’t buy anything else......
