Ripeness
A bit of an emergency blip. Stay at home day today; I wrote up the minutes of the choir AGM, and then got out my special cherry pitting apron and made compote from half of the cherries I bought yesterday. Some of the rest will get eaten as is, and maybe I'll make a clafouti ... The great thing about local cherries is that transport is minimal, hence they are ripe and undamaged; some bunches still had unwilted leaves attached.
S got back from his bear hunt in the Pyrenees. They didn't see any bears, but they confirmed that bears do indeed shit in the woods, and also sharpen their claws cat-style on convenient trees.
