Corbridge
Goodness, back blipping is tricky. This may take some time.
Very windy today, so we decided to focus on nearby Corbridge and Hexham.
I could have blipped images of Roman remains or the South Tyne at Corbridge, or the Abbey at Hexham.
But I liked this glass door at the entrance to Corbridge church. It's a nice church, with some Saxon elements still in place, But this door is much more recent. Paid for by Rowan Atkinson, it commemorates his mother Ella May Atkinson, who I presume grew up in this small town (or village). Intrigued, I checked, and he grew up in Consett in nearby Co Durham. I didn't have him down as a north easterner.
