North Side of Charlotte Square

Shot through Charlotte Square today on my way to Rose Street. I am always full of admiration for the beauty of the New Town, it is almost like going back in time. This square was designed by Robert Adam and built in 1791. There are beautiful Georgian features across the front of the building. If you look closely the stonework at the basement of the building is much rougher than the smooth finish of the rest of the building. This is because the servants lived here!
I am signing off for a few days now as I am off into the wilds with my rucksack and winter walking books.
