Not a Day for Dead-Heading Roses

The Tiny Tuesday theme of Flowers alive and dead... I guess the moment you cut a stem the flower is dead - or is it? When does life really end...? 

A question no doubt considered by the French aristos as they awaited Madame Guillotine. Tales tell of heads still showing apparent life for some time after being severed from their bodies. Flowers? You think?

Anyhow, it's filthy out there and this rose is showing signs her pretty phase is ending and is probably thankful for a short time in the dry. Probably.
