Art school

The gallery is hosting art school this week. Today was "abstract art". We have two classes; 1-3rd graders then 4-6th graders and they are great kids. Yesterday they did watercolors and I get them tomorrow for acrylics. We will explore color ideas, genres of art, painting design and paint manipulation. All high minded ideas for a first grader but they are interested and engaged.
The photo is the second group with their finished abstracts. They will finish on Thursday with a pencil drawing study of an ice cream cone. On Saturday we are hosting an art school open house. I wish you all could come.
