Daunder at Dusk

Having been advised to avoid any strenuous exercise for a few weeks, it was a bit frustrating watching #2 son and his girlfriend heading out for a run this morning and not being able to join them. For the last 30 years or so I have relied on running at this time of year to burn off all those extra calories from the festive food and drink.

By mid-afternoon both Mrs B and I felt we had to get out for some fresh air and a walk (daunder), even although the clouds were threatening. It was the usual route via the avenues to the beach. When we got there the snow capped mountains of Arran were looking splendid as pink light from the setting sun broke through the clouds. It lasted only a few seconds before everything went grey and dusk settled in. We had the beach to ourselves other than the couple and their dog who you might just make out in the distance.

Returned home to find #2 son had made curry with last of the turkey. Mrs B and I really appreciate the fact that both our sons are excellent cooks.

Last day of our family get-together as #2 son and his girlfriend head off tomorrow. Its been a great Christmas and we have all thoroughly enjoyed it!
