Cille Barra
Barra's population is over 80% Catholic, unlike the more northerly islands of the Outer Hebrides. Cille Barra (St Barr's church) is a tiny building at Eoligarry near the tip of the island. I keep coming back to it. You can read more Here. The extra shows the outside. From the cemetery we could here a couple of corncrakes in the long grass.
We spent last night by the old jetty where the ferries used to leave for Eriskay (before the causeway between Eriskay and Uist was built). During the night the wind got up and the van swayed around a bit. We went for a long walk along the beautiful beach, buffeted around. It's still blowing a hoolie now.
