Floods River Trent

The rain has been heavy this autumn andf the river has burst its banks several times this year.

When the river is rising it is muddy and turbulent, but as the flood water starts to recede, the flooded fields look very tranquil as the water lies still.

This shot was taken early this morning just before more rain started.
