CAIRNGORMS day two

Oh well, that' s me. Always trying to enjoy the days inside the Highlands.

Was starting at 8 am from Ryvoan Bothy and walking up to Cairngorm Ski Centre. Than took a quick decision to do a long circuit over Ben MacDui - Loch Etchachan - Beinn Mheadhoin - Loch Avon - Bynack More and back to Ryvoan Bothy.

Don' t ask me how much miles/kilometres I did. Don' t know. Should be more that 30 km I think.

Weather was changing all the time (rain, some short sunny spells, clouds, no visibility, great visibility). What a typical Scottish weather at all. Apart from that it was challenging and spectacular for me. Even I was lucky person because I have seen 5 Cairngorm reindeers near Loch Etchachan.

Anyway I met a few interesting people on my route eg. (two Dutch lads on the summit of Ben MacDui, two German lads who were doing a long 4-5 days walk through the Cairngorms, an older couple going down from the summit of Beinn Mheadhoin...).

Fortunately I was wearing the proper mountain equipment and walking shoes (it was premiere for my new pair of Haglofs Roc Icon GTX). At the end of my 13 hours walk (two breaks incl.) I was very satisfied to see the moorlands next to Speyside and reaching the Ryvoan Bothy at 9 pm.

What a long and fantastic day it was ;-) Lucky me.
