Another report of whooper swans took us on a drive north-west towards Kirklees. Yet again the birds had flown. When we got home I got a message to say there were a couple on another reservoir we had passed on the way home. To be fair, we passed 5 and couldn't possibly check them all out. We did stop off at this one - Winscar Reservoir because I wanted to show Pete my friend's house from above; she lives below the dam of this one. It's the point where the Woodhead Tunnels used to emerge from under the Pennines. It also happens to be the hillside where the River Don rises.
