Eaval

After a peaceful night at Cladallan and a morning walk on the beach, we headed to Kildonan Museum and had a coffee in the cafe. I'm always interested to visit cafes, since I work in one...it was amusing to be on the receiving end of a hard sales pitch for freshly made scones (which I easily resisted) and to banter about allergens in the hot chocolate mix. LOL.

A new place for me today on South Uist - Loch Sgioport. Interesting derelict jetty (see extra) and some birders looking for eagles. It was an atmospheric spot. I had a nice walk in the nature reserve, too, on the way back to the main road.

We continued north, and Jess and I walked up my favourite hill on Benbecula while D did his yoga. The views from the top of Rueval are amazing, in all directions.

As we crossed from Grimsay to North Uist, we saw the distinctive shape of Eaval looking black and begging to be photographed. We parked up and obliged, and that's the photo you see here.

Tonight we are by the sea at Grenitote, at the top of North Uist. We've had our evening meal and it's going to be light for another few hours yet...
