Fanny on the Hill
This is the sun setting over East Wickham Open Space, a couple of minutes walk from Mum's. Today it is a well maintained park, park of the Greenwich Green Chain Walk, and important nature area. However, I know it as Fanny on the Hill, named by locals after the local pub, and when my sister and I were growing up it was an area of waste land: part of the site of the East Wickham Hutments, some of the earliest form of prefabs, built to house WWI munitions workers in 1916. Although they were originally only meant to be temporary housing, some lasted until the late 1950's when they were finally replaced by a new housing scheme.
