A celebration

My lovely manager and friend, N, treated me to an Egyptian buffet for dinner tonight and we saw this wedding on the way out. And what a loud, joyful celebration with singing, clapping, and lots of tambour playing. The groom was being lifted up as we were passing and they were singing for him.

The buffet was good! N said it was obvious it was an Egyptian chef as the flavours were right. And she’d know. She was my manager in Egypt and I’m so grateful she’s here too.

Day 2 of the term and all is going well, except for my sleep patterns.. they’ll return to normal soon, I hope. Waking up far too late and dashing to work...
