Heartbreak

The new owner decides to take his just-purchased boat out for the first time, with himself at the helm.   This is NOT what he expected to happen!   The breakwater is a series of rocky walls with about 4 gaps that protect a small beach and a lagoon.  This is right before he would swing left into the channel at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbour.   This happened Wednesday nite.   The mast looks cleanly broken, the boom with blue sailcover rests on the deck.  A southshore swell is building and it looks further in than yesterday - and also like it's taking on water from the rear.   Each swell does more damage.   It's a very sad sight.   The boat just offshore looks like it's standing by for salvage, but just waiting at this point.
