Mellow Yellow

Walked around the garden and dean with a long lens this afternoon to see what I could find. The crows appear to have fledged...no sign of any foxes and apart from a few butterflies I didn't find anything worth photographing. As I headed back to the house I spied the yellow hammer sitting on an old gate post...it posed quite happily letting me get in quite close before it flew off.

Walking by the stream I could see how high the water had been earlier in the week...I could hear it thundering past from the garden but hadn't been for a look. Thankfully it's well contained and we've not yet had any panics.
