End of Year Party

Summer seems to be here. School is out, and in a few days it will be Midsummer and after that most of Sweden is on holiday.  Even political parties take a holiday so this was the final meeting of the Left Party (Vänsterpartiet) before the summer.
We started in the office, discussing the latest ideas for the future of the town, and then moved to the park where the barbecue was already fired up. The breeze blowing up the South Sound was a little chilly but the sun was warming. The breeze kept the mosquitoes and midges away. The seagulls hovered and screamed a little but eventually gave up and went off to find richer pickings.
We are a very diverse group; all ages, people with many different types of job, individuals, families. What is lovely is that we all seem to get on together. OK, we are united by our politics but I can think of plenty of political groups who spend most of their time fighting each other, rather than any opposition. But I won't mention the B word on such a lovely day, as summer gets under way in mid-Sweden.
I took this picture as we left the picnic. At the start there were about 35 of us there, but now the food is eaten and the evening wind grows still cooler.
