Spitfire over the white cliffs

We are in Kent this weekend to see visit some napoleonic history in Dover tomorrow (more of that to come!). After days of pouring rain we have had some nice sunny spells today. After a long journey down we had time to stop for a walk along the white cliffs at Margarets at Cliffe. We had a fascinating tour of the Foreland Lighthouse by a wonderful tour guide called Nick who was very knowledgeable - I did guess correctly that whale oil was the first fuel used when the lighthouse opened in the 1840s. While we were there.a spitfire passed overhead several times. It was a wonderful sight and felt very nostalgic. It’s not a Greta photo but the spitfire is in the foregound
