Short walk up to the headland before we left Isle of Whithorn and then drove to Wigtown. Lots of book shops and visited ReadingLasses - secondhand bookshop with lots of beautiful books , several rooms all very carefully and neatly presented ( books on every wall) and a lovely coffee. Lots of delicious cakes were available but we were too full. Then drove to Galloway Forest Park. Third time lucky finding a visitor centre which was open but when we did had a lovely walk through the woods ( though we got a little lost). Ended up in an animal hide - red squirrels and lots of birds. Drove to Carsphairn to The Knowe- excellent B and B. Everything felt very new even though it was their fifth season. Dinner at The Clachan Inn in Dalry. Delicious! Lobster, crab, salt and pepper squid, venison, bak d custard tart with rhubarb
