I REALLY have to do something about the grass

Sharing a birthday with these splendid creatures, I am willing to do much to help them. But I am not really sure whether this constitutes help or not. 

Does it (a) provide them with cover while eating; (b) allow predators to creep up on them while eating; or (c) provide them with opportunities to pose as meerkat stand ins for advertisements?

Answers on a postcard, please.
