Ceremonial Armour?

Tucked away in Hardwick Hall is this handsome chestplate and gloves.
Limited information on the piece, so not much more I can say.
You can see the hall from the M1, just south of Bolsover Castle and owned now by the National Trust, unlike the old hall across the driveway which is English Heritage!
